A Dark Matter

A Dark Matter plunges players into Victorian horror, set in the sinister Wraith Manor where investigator Nathan Highmore has been called in to look into a string of mysterious disappearances in the town of Stonehurst. Slingshot Studios built the game around a traditional 5x3 grid, but with just 5 fixed paylines that pay both ways, effectively doubling the paylines on offer and allowing for unusually generous symbol values even on the lower paying card suits. The game's main mechanic is its Invading Wilds, which can appear stacked on reels two and four. When a stacked wild lands, it expands to turn an adjacent reel fully wild as well, creating the chance for some striking full reel wins. Free Spins add a 2x multiplier to proceedings and can be retriggered for extended runs through Wraith Manor's gloomy halls. Visually, the game's atmosphere is its strongest asset, with arresting character portraits, an elaborate backstory and a suitably eerie musical score that reviewers have highlighted as genuinely immersive. With a 96.18% RTP, high volatility and a 2,400x maximum win, A Dark Matter favours storytelling and tension building over raw win potential, making it a distinctive, if comparatively modest, horror themed slot.
