Every slot receives detailed scores across ten categories. Each detail is rated from zero to five stars in half star steps, with zero meaning the feature is absent, each category is the equal average of its details, and the Overall Slot Rating is the equal average of all ten categories.
No category carries extra weight. This keeps the published breakdown and overall score transparent.
A rating of 3.0 represents average quality. Scores of 4.5 are uncommon, and 5.0 is reserved for genuinely exceptional execution. A feature the game does not offer scores zero and still counts in every average.
Detailed ratings are averaged equally within their category, with no intermediate rounding, and category scores are shown to two decimal places. The ten exact category scores are then averaged equally, and only the final Overall Slot Rating is rounded, to one decimal. Zero star criteria and categories are included in every calculation, and the arithmetic is checked twice before publication. The score describes the game, not the chance of winning in an individual session.
RTP is assessed against the game's verified theoretical return, following a consistent conversion table rather than subjective judgement. We also disclose alternative RTP configurations where available.
We assess volatility in context rather than automatically rewarding low volatility games. High volatility can be appropriate for games with substantial maximum wins and powerful bonus mechanics, while a game offering modest winning potential alongside extreme volatility may receive a lower balance score. Bonus Dependency measures whether meaningful winning opportunities are available during ordinary gameplay rather than being concentrated almost entirely in bonus rounds.
Fixed Jackpots covers predetermined jackpot amounts or tiers. Progressive Jackpots covers verified network jackpots that grow through contributions from qualifying wagers, and documented starting or seed values of network progressives can receive credit within the Fixed Jackpots criterion. Jackpot Potential covers the available prize amounts and structure, and Jackpot Mechanics covers how prizes are triggered and awarded. Games without jackpot mechanics receive zero stars across the category.
These are assessed separately. Graphics measures artwork quality, symbols and backgrounds, while Theme & Immersion assesses how successfully the game's concept, atmosphere and visual elements work together. An attractive game does not automatically deserve an exceptional theme rating, but outstanding artwork and cohesive world building can justify scores of 4.5 or higher.
Every review carries approximately four to six concise points on each side. Cons explain genuine limitations without making a game sound worse than it is, so we write "RTP could be higher" rather than "disappointing RTP". Pros identify meaningful strengths rather than simply listing features every slot already offers.
