Big Bass Blast

Big Bass Blast gives the fisherman an electric makeover and, more usefully, lets him collect cash during the base game as well as free spins. Wilds on the outer reels can bring multipliers into ordinary play, giving the fish values something to do before the bonus arrives. Free spins take a shorter, concentrated approach: the starting allocation is modest, but at least one wild is guaranteed on every spin, while collecting seven fishermen earns another batch and a stronger collection multiplier. Hooks, dynamite and bazookas provide additional opportunities to bring the collection pieces together. That combination makes Blast a worthwhile variation on the familiar fishing formula, although it still revolves heavily around matching collectors with cash symbols. 3.5 stars recognises the improved base game involvement and focused bonus, with limited mechanical variety keeping it below four.
